Are you a food service venue? How would you rate your Food Safety Performance?
From the 1st of August 2011, a 12 month trial will start of the previously Scores on Doors Pilot program which ran last year. Venues are able to receive a score after a food inspector has assessed their venue by visiting unannounced.
The results of the inspection will reflect the ‘Score’ given to the venue and they can then display the results on the door of their venue. Top businesses would receive a rating of 5 stars, followed by 4 stars then 3.
The stars are a reflection of how well the business has met the requirements of the Food Standards Code of NSW.
“Scores on Doors offers businesses a fantastic opportunity to show customers just how seriously they take food hygiene and the results they have achieved,” Katrina Hodgkinson said.
The Rating System
5 Stars : Excellent
The business has achieved the highest level of compliance with food safety standards.
4 Stars: Very Good
The business has very good food safety practices in place. Some minor areas where standards were not met will need to be addressed.
3 Stars: Good
The business has a good standard of food safety compliance. A number of areas, although not serious, need to be corrected.
